Enjoy every moment of your journey onboard with our award-winning service and friendly, helpful cabin crew. We ensure that no detail is overlooked, and you’ll arrive in Manila feeling ready to do business or discover the delights of this city and the beautiful islands of the Philippines for yourself.

This cluster of islands has been a key point on world-wide trading routes for centuries, and the colonial influences can still be seen in its stately buildings today. However, modern Manila also has plenty to offer up and coming businesses, as it’s now one of the most important high-tech centres in the region, attracting entrepreneurs, innovators and inventors from all around the world.

Flying from Dammam

Surrounded by dramatic sand dunes and the vast open spaces of the Arabian Desert, Dammam Airport (known as King Fahd International Airport) is truly vast with six levels housing a huge selection of facilities, check-in desks, lounges and porter services.

Transportation and parking

The airport has a multi-storey car park attached to it. On the roof of this car park, you can find a mosque, which can be accessed from the passenger terminal through two enclosed, air-conditioned bridges and an additional open bridge.

The airport is around 50 kilometres from Dammam city centre, but is well served by frequent bus links and taxis. Carrier SAPTCO runs shuttle buses between the airport and the bus station every hour. The trip takes around 45 minutes. Taxis are available and are located in the rank outside the main entrance. A limousine service is also available.

Arriving at King Fahd International Airport

There is only one terminal at the airport, but it is vast. Departure check-in is located on Level 6, while boarding gates are on Level 4.

Facilities and amenities

King Fahd International Airport was the first in Saudi Arabia to open duty-free shops within its airport. There is a separate area dedicated to shops selling goods that passengers might find useful during their travels, and in the arrivals area you will also find plenty of cafés, restaurants and banks.

ATMs and currency exchange points are available in the departure and arrival areas. For a light meal with a view, head to the fourth floor (above check-in), where you'll find an observation deck and a café serving a buffet selection of food.

Tourist attractions

The majority of Manila’s most popular attractions are to be found in the bay area. The Malacanang Palace, built in the 18th century, is the official home of the president of the Philippines.

As well as the palace, there are some spectacular public gardens and a museum to explore.

For an interesting glimpse into the history of the Philippines the Bonafacio Shrine honours national hero Andres Bonafacio, who played a significant part in the struggle for Filipino independence.

Manila has plenty of museums to choose from, including the National Museum of the Philippines, with collections covering archaeology, culture, zoology and the arts.

To get a better understanding of the nation’s history, head to the Museum of Philippine Political History, or discover the country’s great artists at the National Art Gallery.
