We know how important your pets are to you, which is why we strive to extend our world-class service to your furry and feathered friends when they travel. Qatar Airways accepts domesticated dogs, cats, and birds as checked baggage - same flight as the customer, or as cargo - unaccompanied shipment, according to international air travel rules and regulations.
Due to certain restrictions imposed by different countries’ regulations at the origin, transit and destination countries of your journey, as well as aircraft limitations, you are advised to notify us of your pets' transfer preferably at the time of reservations / ticketing or at least 48 hours before departure in order to avoid any inconvenience.
It is your responsibility to make sure all necessary documentation of your pet is available before travel, such as their health certificate (certified by your veterinarian that the animal is healthy and fit to fly) and identification or pet passport.
Qatar Airways’ procedure on its acceptance of live animals complies entirely with the IATA Live Animals Regulations, as well as with any additional government regulations required by the country of origin, transit and destination.
Qatar Airways permits service dog(s) free of charge on certain routes to accompany a passenger with a disability in the passenger cabin. On all other routes, service dog(s) will be accepted free of charge as checked baggage within the aircraft hold.

You are permitted to carry one falcon on board the Economy Class passenger cabin of an aircraft, and a maximum of six falcons are permitted within the Economy Class cabin of an aircraft (country regulations may apply).

Service dog(s) can be transported in the cabin free of charge when travelling on specific routes.
If a falcon is transported as checked baggage and not in the cabin, travelling cost of animals as checked baggage will apply.
During your transfer in Doha our ground staff will make sure that :-
• Animals are allowed out of their kennels to walk and stretch.
• Animals are observed for signs of sickness and stress.
• Kennels are cleaned.
• Dogs are walked.
• Animals are provided a larger, more comfortable kennel during transit.
• Food (if not provided by owner) is provided every 3-4 hours and only up to 2 hours before departure.
• Water is changed every hour.
You are responsible for providing enough food and water for your pet’s journey in the travelling container or kennel as you will not be able to access your pet during the journey.
The container must be of an adequate size, have ventilation openings, suitable design and of sufficient strength to prevent escape.
For the animal’s wellbeing, Qatar Airways reserves the right to refuse transport of any animal if the container is too small.
Qatar Airways does not permit transport of certain breeds of dogs and cats as these animals are normally susceptible to increased risk of heat stroke when exposed to stress or temperatures above 21°C (69.8°F).
