Tourist attractions

Nice’s deep blue sea, diverse shopping opportunities and legendary dining establishments are justly famous, but make sure some of these top attractions are on your must-see list when you make your trip to Nice.
The sweeping Promenade des Anglais really epitomises the city and has become an iconic spot on the French Riviera.

It’s lined with upmarket restaurants and is always bustling. The Cours Saleya Flower Market is another of the city’s big attractions, lined again with chic cafés, souvenir shops, and bursting with brilliant colours of the blooms on sale.

The artist Henri Matisse was inspired by the city’s rich palette of colours, and the Matisse Museum houses many of his most famous works. The Old Town of Nice is just along the road from the museum, with its narrow and atmospheric alleyways packed with small shops selling everything from household items to gourmet gifts and trendy clothing.
Don’t miss Le Chateau for its great views across the sea and city, or the Russian Cathedral with its spectacular ‘onion’ towers.

Leisure activities

On your trip to Nice, you should certainly pay a visit to the Roman ruins and Nice Archaeology Museum for an insight into the city’s long and eventful history. The bath houses and amphitheatre are particularly impressive.

Nice Port is usually overlooked when looking for things to do here, but it’s a great spot for relaxing with a coffee and cake while watching the ferries depart for Corsica. You’ll find the port just around the corner from the Quai des Etats Unis and Old Nice.
