Book a flight from Tokyo to Sao Paulo with Qatar Airways

With flights from Tokyo to Sao Paolo with Qatar Airways, you can now travel in comfort and style to Brazil’s financial heart and major tourism centre. On the way, choose from a menu of gourmet cuisine created by award-winning chefs, and a range of luxury in-flight services for your entertainment and delight. Relax in supremely comfortable seating with plenty of personal space, and have your needs catered for by an attentive and highly trained cabin crew.

Sao Paolo has a rich cultural tradition as well as some of the most attractive architecture in the southern hemisphere. From the Edificio Martinelli Skyscraper, built in 1929, to the great Metropolitan Cathedral with its ornate towers and buttresses, this is a city to savour. There are many colonial influences, and it is this eclectic mix that is one of the city’s big draws. With plenty of shopping and diverse cuisine, Sao Paolo is one of Qatar Airways’ most attractive destinations.

Flying from Tokyo

With a reputation for punctuality, efficiency and cleanliness, Tokyo’s Haneda Airport (also known as Tokyo International Airport) is one of the country’s main air transport hubs and connects to destinations across the globe.

This is an exceptionally busy airport, handling over 72 million passengers a year, making it the fourth-busiest airport for passenger numbers in the world. However, passengers flying from Tokyo with Qatar Airways will find this to be a very personalised airport, where staff are quick to help and the emphasis is on an excellent passenger experience from the moment you step through the doors.

Transportation and parking

Tokyo’s public transport system is legendary, and the same is true of its connections to the airport. Direct trains run between Haneda and Narita Airport (Tokyo’s other major airport), and the airport is also served directly by Tokyo’s Monorail service, which has a dedicated station at each terminal. The Keikyu train network also connects to Tokyo and other cities across Japan to the airport. Bus routes are just as plentiful, including the Haneda Airport Express bus.

Taxis operate on a set fare basis and the journey time by taxi from the centre of Tokyo to the airport is approximately 25-40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Both short and long-term parking is available at each terminal, with shuttle buses running between the parking areas and the terminals. There are approximately 3,000 spaces at the International terminal, but these fill up quickly. Pre-booking is advised.

Arriving in Tokyo

Passengers flying from Tokyo with Qatar Airways depart from the International Terminal. The check-in and security process is efficient, so it is sufficient to arrive approximately one hour before your flight is due to leave. A number of public lounges are located in the International Departures Area 4F, and a private VIP lounge is also available.

Facilities and amenities

Facilities are excellent at the airport, and it even has its own shopping ‘street’ where you’ll find a wide selection of luxury goods, accessories and electronics in particular. You’ll also be able to access the Duty Free shopping area once you have passed through security checks. Wi-Fi is free and extensive throughout the terminal, and there are also fixed Internet points in the Departures area.

Diners are well catered for, with excellent quality vendors serving both Japanese and international cuisine ranging from on-the-go noodles and snacks through to more substantial restaurant menus.

Arriving in Guarulhos, Sao Paulo

This city within a city is part of the state of Sao Paulo, and is its second most populous city. The name refers to the original indigenous people of the region, although today you are more likely to encounter skyscrapers and a mix of residents from all over the globe, rather than a traditional native South American community.

Book a flight to Guarulhos with Qatar Airways and you can experience all the luxury of a modern and efficient service, coupled with traditional standards of service and courtesy. You’ll land in a vibrant and busy city that has plenty to offer both business and leisure visitors.

Tourist attractions

Despite its rapidly expanding commercial centre, the city is well known for its parks and open spaces. Some of the best to visit if you want to escape the somewhat frenetic pace of life include the delightful Guarulhos Forest Garden, the tranquillity of Maia Woods, or a fine example of what can happen when municipal parks are done well, the lush and relaxing Cantareira State Park.

The city is focused on the arts, and two theatres in particular stand out, the Nelson Rodriques Theater and the Padre Bento Theater. However, if you want to experience an even greater arts scene then the city of Sao Paulo itself has a huge selection of venues to choose from, including classical music and contemporary dance.

A short journey will take you into the heart of Sao Paulo itself, with its Historic Center that actually celebrates contemporary architecture rather than older buildings. You will also find the majority of the State’s museums in Sao Paulo, including the Museu do Ipiranga and Memorial da América Latina, which both hold extensive collections of native artefacts and art.

Travel Considerations

Flights to Guarulhos with Qatar Airways land at São Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport, one of the busiest air transport hubs in South America. Visa restrictions for entry into the country will depend on your country of origin, length of stay and whether your trip is for business or pleasure. Before you fly to Guarulhos please check the visa and passport requirements
