One of the Most Efficient Aircraft Fleets in the Industry
At just 3.2 years old in December 2008, our state-of-the-art fleet will be amongst the youngest flying today, naturally helping to reduce our carbon and noise emissions footprint versus our competitors. Our newest aircraft, the Boeing 777-200LR, is at the pinnacle of our effort to reduce emissions.Qatar Airways has placed orders for new-generation Boeing 777s, Boeing 787s, Airbus A320/321s, Airbus A350s, Airbus A380s, and is in the process of almost doubling its fleet-size to 110 aircraft. As noted, we will be introducing the highly-efficient Airbus A380 to our fleet, which offers more fuel efficiency, per-passenger, than a small family car. In five years, our fleet age is expected to be just 4 1/2 years old and in 10 years, just under 5 years old.
This multi-billion dollar investment will help further to improve the local air quality in the neighbourhood of our destinations and reduce the level of noise. Already today our fleet meets the most stringent ICAO noise levels.
