Qatar Airways to commence a second flight to Hong Kong from 16th February 2016

The Doha – Hong Kong route is currently served with two daily flights by two carriers; Qatar Airways and our oneworld alliance partner Cathay Pacific.

Cathay Pacific will cancel its daily service between Doha and Hong Kong effective 16th February 2016, which also marks the end of the joint business arrangement on this route with Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways introduction of a second flight to coincide with Cathay Pacific’s cancelation ensures that Hong Kong will continue to have the same level of flight connectivity and frequency.

The operating carrier change for the Hong Kong-Doha flights from Cathay Pacific (CX640 & CX645) to Qatar Airways (QR640 & QR645) will have minimum impact on members who are booked on Cathay Pacific-operated flights from Hong Kong to Doha after February 15, 2016. Any affected members will be re-accommodated on the Qatar Airways-operated flight which will operate on the same schedule.

Privilege Club members who have flown on the CX640 and CX645 flights prior to 16th February 2016 who have not yet claimed their Qmiles, can still claim retro miles up to 6 months from the date of travel.

Qatar Airways’ current codeshare arrangements on Cathay Pacific beyond Hong Kong to Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Japan remain unchanged. Members will continue to enjoy the convenience of enhanced frequency and greater choice of destinations within Australasia as a result of this codeshare arrangement between the oneworld member airlines.

Updated daily flights between Hong Kong and Doha, effective February 16, 2016 (all times local) is as below:

Route Operating Flight Departure Time Arrival Time
HKG-DOH QR815 0120 0520
HKG-DOH  QR645 1830 2325
DOH-HKG  QR640 0150 1425
