Qatar Airways discontinues partnership with Asiana Airlines

As of 1st January 2017, Asiana Airlines cease to be an airline partner of Qatar Airways Privilege Club.

As a result of this, Privilege Club members will not be able to earn Qmiles or request award tickets on any Asiana flights from the 1st January 2017 onwards. For flights that have been completed on or before 31st December 2016, for which Qmiles have not yet been claimed, members can still claim retro Qmiles up to 30th June 2017.

 

Change to redemption tickets can be made up until 31st December 2016 only. After 31st December, no changes are allowed on the redemption tickets booked before 1st January 2017.

Suspension of Qatar Airways service between Doha and Asmara

Due to operational requirements, Qatar Airways will be suspending flights between Doha and Asmara starting from 4 December 2016 until further notice. Our last flight QR1444 will depart from Asmara on 3 December 2016.

 

Our priority is of course our customers and we are ensuring that you are provided with additional support during this time and accommodated on the most convenient alternative journey.

 

As such we are taking the following commercial measures:
Our office in Asmara will remain open until 28 February 2017 and we will be happy to provide any support required.

 

Passengers:

  • If you have booked on Qatar Airways for travel prior to 3 December 2016, you will not be affected and your journey remains as planned.
  • If you have booked on Qatar Airways with inbound or outbound flights after 3 December we will be in contact with you to explore alternative travel options.

 

Accordingly you will be given options to:

  • Rebook on to any of our select partner airlines to original origin/destination with no additional charges.*
  • Full refund for any unused cancelled tickets.*

Qatar Airways and British Airways announce joint business agreement offering members more choice

Qatar Airways and British Airways’ parent company, International Airlines Group (IAG), announced a joint business agreement that will come into effect on 30 October 2016.

 

The joint business will offer a wider choice of flights, an enhanced network and greater choice of fares.

 

The partnership between Qatar Airways and British Airways will allow the carriers to provide passengers with better links and an even more seamless travel experience between the UK, Asia, Middle East and Africa. The joint business will see the two airlines code-sharing on all non-stop flights between the UK and Doha, to offer customers a combined route network that will serve more than 70 destinations. Between the airlines’ hubs of London and Doha the new partnership will offer seven daily non-stop services in both directions.
